Visitor Welcome
22 04 2009Hi all Freshmen and Visitors!
Welcome to the Temasek Polytechnic Campus Crusade for Christ(TPCCC) Blog. Since we have recieved a few well asked enquiries with regards to TPCCC, we have decided to answer them here!
1. Is TPCCC a CCA in the school?
No. TPCCC is not a CCA in the school. We are a group of christian students coming together as a community, with the vision that there will be movements all over TP that every student will know someone who truly follows Jesus Christ.
2. What are the things that TPCCC do?
We have weekly LIFE meetings every Wednesday at either Amphitheatre or IT school, held from 6pm to 7.30pm. LIFE meetings consist of a time of Games, Worship, Sharing of the Word, Outing Events and many more. We also provide Discipleship Groups(DGs) for Christians or Non Christians to get to know other christians and to study the word of God/ Bible togther.
3. I am already attending my own church, so why would I want to join TPCCC?
TPCCC is not a church, it is a school campus ministry that gives us the opportunity to reach out to others in the Campus. Think of it as an outside extended ministry to the current ministries we may be serving in.
If there are any further enquieries, feel free to email us at tpccrusade@gmail.com. We would be happy to answer any questions you my have regarding TPCCC.

Willing or Able
10 04 2009Recently, I read about some real life story of what has happens In Romans by a guy called Paul. The passage was from Romans 6. It talks wonderfully about dead to Sin and Alive In Christ. Like how we used to let sin reign over us In the past and how we used to obey our sinful desires. Now however, we are dead to sin and alive In Christ. This sounds so holy babbly kind of thing… Its sounds so woo… but Hmm… are we doing so?
Seriously from a point of personal view, IT IS VERY HARD. Seriously hard… Especially for guys who In no matter what situation or wherever they are, they will be easily tempted by stuffs… *let’s be mature adults okayed* No matter how hard we think we can, often times we can’t. It Is because we are all human. Human are born with sinful nature.
But with God, all things are possible. I’m saying this sentence not just It’s because It’s from the bible. But I really believe It from the leading of God.
Anyway… I’ve learned one of the most Important lesson recently from ST/SM training camp. A phrase from Bixia. “God would rather use people who are unable BUT willing rather than people who are able But unwilling.”
I think that It Is quite true when the sentence came across my mind. In the bible, God always uses people who are unable but they are willing to let God use them. This Is a important lesson that I think I want to learn. I want to learn how to be willing. And I believe once I am willing, I will be having a obedience hard to follow God and like I said earlier, all things are possible thru God.
With obedience heart, we can do many stuffs. And I believe that with my heart.

The day after tomorrow
8 04 2009It was one thing to think and believe in something. But it was another for God to say “Do it”.
The ST/SM training camp was nothing short of Fun, Food, Friends. But it was also a time for great thought searching.
Being a Leader, Motivation, having the initiative to share the love of Christ, being a testimony, showing love and encouragement, Being like Gideon in the campus, Understanding God’s Point of view in every situation were a few of the thought sequences that have been shooting through my mind.
Lets rewind and just freeze for a minute. Just about 353 days ago, i stepped into Temasek Polytechnic, unsure of what to expect, and what my purpose in TP was to be. At the time, my holidays were proven fruitful as i was recharged and refreshed in the Lord. And I remember within the first and second week, i did a survey. And from there, I realised that there as a movement in the school. A movement which provoked excitement and passion within me. It was Campus Crusade.
The one thing which I have learnt, and have been reminded of constantly is the passion and love Christ has for all of us, believers and non believers alike. And one of the ways to show people of Christ’s love for them, is in Matthew 28:19. Which says: ” Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,”
And it really gets me thinking. Hey! I’ve heard this verse many, many times. But what gets to me, is that i have been extremely passive. I have been praying for God to send people to me to share with instead of GOing. The word of God says”Go therefore” not “Pray therefore that nations will come that you may make disciples…”
So during the recent training camp, i have been reminded to have the ininitiative. Because, u never know, when you best friend could die. And i’m going to be frank, no one knows that even at this very moment, someone has died without knowing Jesus.
So my heart, is now more excited to GO. To serve, to minister, to bring glory to the Lord.
And we should all challenge ourselves to take the first step. To go.
God bless,
Naomi

Foolscap paper
28 03 2009Hello everyone, I am surprised at myself, to be updating this blog instead of my personal one which, just by the way, I have neglected.
Anyways, this WordPress is quite a feat, I had to meddle around for a full ten minutes before I managed to find out 1.) Where to go to sign in and 2.) Where to click to type an entry.
Alrighty, I hope this is not too abrupt a change in the mood of the entries, the past few entries have been highly informative and pragmatic for those who read, this is slightly less illuminating, but hopefully it serves as an interesting read, however slight.
As some of you may have already known, I am relief teaching, back in my old primary school. Even though I am only a relief teacher, and have been given some more menial tasks, I have also been given larger responsibilities – like taking over, for one week, the worst (or so they say, academically at least) class in the level. I have also taught the lower primary children, who are adorable to say the least, I absolutely love them, however noisy they are. I have taught everything from English to Science to Math and even P.E.
Well anyway, one day, I was relieving (I am actually not so sure if the word “relief” can be changed to a verb in this context, but you know what I mean) a primary six class. The teacher asked me to get them to write one page of reflections.
Well as I was collecting their sheets of foolscap paper, something caught my eye. This Malay boy came up to me to hand me his reflections, and he didn’t use the school’s foolscap paper. That wasn’t what caught my eye though – what did were the words on top.
Given my Goldfish Memory, it is not all surprising that I cannot remember exactly what was on that paper, but what I do remember is that I recognized that sentence even though I do not know the exact reference.
It was a verse from the bible!
I was extremely shocked because I never expected to see a Christian verse on a piece of foolscap paper, and did it really come from that Malay boy?
Curious as I was, I started to scrutinize the foolscap paper to see where this came from, maybe a convent school or a missionary school that his sibling goes to or something of that sort. But that wasn’t it.
This was it:
http://www.sccc.sg
YES. That was it. In my old primary school, as a relief teacher taking over a class for one short period, I saw that. I don’t know how to aptly describe it, but there was this fuzzy feeling flowering inside me.
Of all campuses, I got to see (I have never before this seen how the foolscap paper looked like) this in my very own ex-campus. By the way, my primary school is Ahmad Ibrahim Primary School and it is a lowly neighbourhood school with no standing place academically… But that doesn’t let it slip pass God’s eyes.
Amazing, no?
That was, by far the most heartwarming, amazing and possibly best – if you could call it that – piece of foolscap paper I have seen in all my eighteen years.
In His unfailing love,
Jo
